TERRACE, B.C. -- Terrace RCMP are trying to determine whether they're dealing with a crime scene or simply a hoax, after what appeared to be bloody handprints were discovered last week near a local business.

Police say last Wednesday (September 22), a staff member at Aqua Clear Bottlers reported that the handprints were left on three vehicles in the company parking lot overnight.

Terrace RCMP say the red handprints appeared to wash away in the rain, and they suspect it may have been costume blood that had been deliberately placed there.

No other vehicle damage was reported.

Police checked recent files regarding missing or injured persons and found nothing that would relate to the discovery of the handprints.
