Gynecology patients can now stay closer to home, as the Kitimat General Hospital Foundation has implemented a new system - The Fluent System for Gynecology.
The Hospital Foundation says the system will help keep Kitimat gynecology surgeries local, as well as increasing operating room availability for the region - which will alleviate wait times.
They say there are over 700 people in the region awaiting these surgeries, and the system streamlines procedures for the entire team, and positively impacts patients.
The purchase was made possible by donations from many local businesses, individuals, and fundraisers - including the "Rock out for Women's Health" fundraiser.
