Additional charges have been sworn by police in the investigation that led to the arrest of Nathan Rinsma.
On August 31, 2024, at approximately 7:45 a.m., Terrace RCMP received a report of a possible aggravated assault where one woman was seriously injured. The North District Emergency Response Team was deployed to help locate him. Rinsma was arrested September 3rd.
The additional charges sworn include attempted murder, forcible confinement, aggravated assault, use of firearm (or imitation) while committing an offence, and to carry/posess a firearm for the purpose of committing an offence.
The investigation which began on the morning of August 31, after a report of a serious assault involving two victims, led to two search warrants being sought for residences in Thornhill or Usk. These search warrants resulted in the seizure of cash, ammunition, weapons, illicit drugs, and firearms.
Rinsma remains in custody at this time with the next court appearance scheduled for October 4th.
