PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. -- RCMP in New Hazelton arrested and apprehended an individual with four outstanding warrants on November 22nd after a foot pursuit that lasted five hours.

“This was a serious situation, where our members were under considerable risk,” said New Hazelton RCMP Staff Sgt. Darren Durnin.

Police recovered three shotguns and a handgun during the investigation.

They also seized over 400 grams of suspected crystal meth, fentanyl and other drugs, as well as a large amount of cash. A vehicle and trailer were seized as well.

The case will be sent to the B.C. Prosecution Service for a review of potential charges.
