Terrace City Council is unanimously in favor of giving Terrace's new hospital a new name in the language used by the Tsimshian First Nation's members, Sm'algyax.

While the words Mills Memoria Hospital were officially attached to the side of the building, that name has since been covered up while a a new name is in the process of being determined.

The motion to create a new name was done by Councillor Dave Gordon and later seconded by Councillor Inder Dhillon because of exchanged letters sent between Kitselas First Nation Chief Glenn Bennett and Chair of the Northern Health Authority Colleen Nyce
