Yesterday saw the BC Ministry of Environment and Parks collaborate with the Northern Health Authority to issue an Air Quality Advisory for the Town of Smithers.
That advisory was then continued earlier this morning for at least the rest of today.
The advisory was put into effect because of coarse particulate matter, which can potentially be problematic for infants, older adults, people with conditions like asthma or respiratory infections as well as pregnant women.
The next update on the advisory will be first posted to the province’s air quality warnings webpage.
