The residents of Prince Rupert now have more potential places to live as the Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs announced that an apartment building known as Estrella is now open in Prince Rupert.
The building holds 40 new rental homes at 511 W. 9th Avenue and was made possible thanks to BC Builds, a housing program created by BC Housing.
Construction on the building started in 2024, only a few weeks after it was approved and the project is a part of the Province’s $19-billion housing investment.
30 percent of the building’s homes will be rented at 20 percent below market rates in an attempt to make living there more possible for middle-income earners.
