The Government of BC recently announced that the major North Coast Transmission Line project has officially started construction.
The line is expected to result in around 9,700 jobs being created and should employ about 1,400 workers at the peak of it’s construction work.
It is also expected to help Canada become less reliant on the United States for economic help by producing about $10 Billion to BC’s economy, while also generating $950 Million annually in provincial and municipal revenue.
Phase 1 of construction is expected to be done by mid 2030 and phase 2 is planned to start in 2027 and finish by winter 2032.
