Starting on March 8th, the Province of BC will be undergoing it’s final daylight saving time shift, putting an end to the twice a year clock changes.
BC will be adopting a permanent year round daylight saving time and it’s being done with the intention of reducing disruptions, improving overall health, simplifying scheduling as well as providing extra evening light during the winter months.
The announcement from the Province also mentioned that a public engagement from 2019 that gathered input from 223,000 people found that 93 percent of the responders said they would support a permanent DST.
BC’s new time zone is also set to be aligned with the Yukon all year round.
