The BC Wildfire Service has made it known that they will be giving their support to the Gitxsan Laxyip Management Office and Wilp Gwiiyeehl as they work on a pair of cultural burn projects in the near future.
Both projects will be taking place near Kispiox, with one being located about 23 kilometres northwest of Kispiox at the Upper Kispiox River Recreation site and the other being about 30 kilometres northwest of Kispiox, along the Kuldo Forest Service Road.
It’s not known exactly when the burning will start, but it’ll most likely take place anytime between March 30th and May 13th.
During that time, smoke might be visible to drivers travelling along Highway 16.
