The Burns Lake RCMP are currently investigating the theft that resulted in that major Internet outage on Monday.
At around 9:23 AM on Monday morning, the Burns Lake RCMP learned of a theft and mischief near the Sheraton rest stop on Highway 16, where copper wire was stolen and fibre lines were cut in the process.
As part of their investigation into this case, the Burns Lake RCMP are asking anyone who might’ve seen something, or have dashcam footage of Highway 16 between Burns Lake and Fraser Lake, from between 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM On May 4th, to call them at 250-692-7171.
