Skeena MLA and BC Opposition Critic for Mental Health and Addictions, Claire Rattée, recently called on the Provincial Government to take urgent action as a response to the concerning rise in suicides among BC Paramedics.
She also requested a meeting with BC’s Minister of Health and has offered to support a call for a joint inquiry into the root causes of this crisis.
The Ambulance Paramedics of British Columbia CUPE 873 has said that 2025 has marked a record high in paramedic suicides.
Rattée also reiterated that these calls are not about placing blame, but instead, finding real solutions to this problem.
