The District of Kitimat announced that they are launching their first ever financial incentive designed specifically to attract healthcare professionals.
This incentive comes as part of the District’s Healthcare Professionals Attraction and Retention Strategy that was created last year with the help of a recently hired Health Recruitment Coordinator.
Healthcare professionals who either fill a vacancy or join a local practice in Kitimat can get up to $20,000, and the incentive are set to run for at least 3 years.
Applications for the incentive are now open and they will start being reviewed on September 15th.
Other incentives based around housing allowances, training and retention are being developed as well.
