A Haida Gwaii bar operator recently got fined $3,000 after an undercover liquor inspector had quite the wild encounter in the establishment.

Back on March 1st, the inspector was in the Misty Harbour Inn in Daajing Giids and was offered what appeared to be cocaine by a patron.

After the inspector was later introduced to the bar’s third party operator, both the patron and operator pulled out multiple knives in plain view of everyone.

The inspector left soon after due to personal safety concerns and the bar operator was arrested the next day by the RCMP, with multiple knives being seized.

A hearing eventually determined that the operator would be fined $3,000 and they have until September 25th to pay it.
