Higher than usual patient volumes at Ksyen Regional Hospital

Respiratory illness season has resulted in patient volumes being higher than usual at Ksyen hospital at the moment.

Northern Health is advising the public that the Ksyen Regional Hospital is continuing to experience higher than usual patient volumes, and wait times in the various departments, including emergency, may be longer than usual.

They say that increases in patient visits can be the result of a number of factors, such as respiratory illness season, or seasonal conditions that can lead to an increase in injuries like slips and falls.

Northern Health says that to reduce strain on the emergency and acute resources, they remind those with less urgent care needs that they should visit their primary care provider or contact Nothern Health virtual care clinic.

However as always, with life-threatening emergency health care needs, call 9-1-1.

Northern Health also reminds us that they are actively and continuously working to recruit skilled health care staff across the region.
