Homelessness Services Association of BC to Host Training in Terrace.

HSABC Regional Events Series (HSABC)

The Homelessness Services Association of BC (HSABC) is coming to Terrace this month to host a homelessness training event.

The session takes place on Thursday, September 25th, at the Terrace Sportsplex Banquet Room. The training will focus on strengthening services for people experiencing homelessness, while also recognizing and supporting the frontline workers who provide shelter and care.

HSABC is working in partnership with the Kermode Friendship Society and the KSAN Society , two local organizations that continue to provide direct support in the Terrace Community

Organizers say the event goes beyond day-to-day operations — it’s also about equipping staff with tools to handle the emotional and physical demands of the job. They stress the importance of tailored solutions, noting that each community faces unique challenges when it comes to homelessness.

Alongside the challenges, success stories serve as reminders of why the work matters. One story shared is of a man who once struggled with homelessness has turned his life around and is now a staff member of the society .

HSABC says registration is still open and is encouraging community members to take part in the September 25th training.
