LNG Canada is advising of a planned flaring event associated with the restart of Train 2.
Expected to start on or around January 4th, and to last about a week.
LNG Canada says the flaring will be intermittent with flare heights that may range from 15 metres to 90 metres.
LNG Canada says they anticipate increased noise and visible emissions during this period.
They also stated that flaring is a provincially regulated safety measure that ensures the controlled, efficient combustion of natural gas during specific operational phases -- and that is it a critical part of safely operating the facility.
Flaring is not expected to be routine during regular operations.
