In a recent statement that was made by the North Coast-Haida Gwaii MLA Tamara Davidson, it was revealed that applications will now be accepted for a funding program aimed at supporting food security and sovereignty for North Coast Indigenous Organizations and Communities.
The window to apply for funding from the Indigenous Food Security and Sovereignty Program is set to remain open until May 20th.
Some local entities that got funding last year included the Gitga’at First Nation receiving $250,000 and the Haida Enterprise Corporation gaining $155,500.
