Alongside the Northern Health Authority, the Ministry of Environment and Parks issued a yellow level air quality warning for the community of Kitimat.
The main reason for this warning is because of elevated fine particulate matter in the area, which can be a problem for infants, older adults and people with respiratory issues.
In the meantime, people are advised to avoid strenuous physical activities until the warning is lifted.
