From August 9th to 15th, 2025, a powerful tribute will unfold along Highway 16 as Noah Allison laces up his shoes and embarks on a deeply personal journey — a 145-kilometre run from Prince Rupert to Terrace in honour of his late father, Markus.
Titled Miles for Markus, the emotional week-long run is more than a physical challenge. It’s a tribute to a father lost to cancer, a fundraiser for patients still fighting, and a demonstration of resilience, remembrance, and hope.
“My biggest inspiration,” Noah said through tears during an interview. “If he could see me doing this, I think he’d be proud. I’m doing it for him — and for every family going through what we went through.”
The run is being held in partnership with the BC Cancer Foundation, with funds going directly to the Patient Relief Fund — a lifeline that helps patients and families offset costs like travel, lodging, meals, and other burdens associated with treatment.
With the help of friends, volunteers, and strangers alike, Noah has already raised thousands of dollars. The community support has been overwhelming.
“I didn’t expect this kind of response,” Noah shared. “But every message, every donation, every person cheering me on — it’s kept me going.”

Donations to Miles for Markus can still be made through the official campaign page hosted by the BC Cancer Foundation. Every dollar goes toward helping real families during the toughest times of their lives.

As Noah runs from Prince Rupert to Terrace, he carries his father’s memory with him — and the hearts of many who believe in the power of love, community, and purpose.
