A new gang enforcement team is coming to Northern BC.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) is launching the North District Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (ND UGET) a dedicated team focused on disrupting gang activity and supporting law enforcement across Northern B.C.
The unit says that organized crime groups continue to expand drug-trafficking routes and move weapons through Northern B.C., increasingly targeting remote and rural communities.
This new dedicated team will Target violent offenders and gang associates, Intercept drugs, weapons and criminal proceeds, support local police through coordinated intelligence sharing, and enhance community safety through focused suppression efforts.
The uniformed gang enforcement team were deployed to Northern B.C. 28 times between 2020 and 2024– representing 26% of all UGET deployments. As of September 2025, UGET has deployed 33 times, including six times to the North District.
From January 2023 to September 2025, UGET’s enforcement efforts resulted in the seizure of over a million dollars in illicit proceeds, 192 firearms, 194 kilograms of illegal drugs, 24 vehicles, 99 firearm components, 1,415 additional weapons.
The teams says these outcomes demonstrate UGET’s effectiveness in reducing gang-related harm and removing weapons and drugs from communities across B.C.
The North District UGET is expected to be operational in 2026, pending staffing and logistical requirements.
