A joint announcement from the Nisga’a and Tahltan First Nations revealed that they have formed a joint venture with Arrow Transportation Systems in order to acquire control of the Port of Stewart Bulk Terminal.

And while the acquisition has not been completely finalized yet, it is expected to close within the next few months.

All the parties involved in the venture are equal partners and the plan for the Terminal is to have it export critical minerals from local mines like the Newmont owned Red Chris and Brucejack mines.

Newmont is also supporting this partnership by allowing the new port owners to have commercial certainty, which will allow them to move proceed without any doubts.
