Management at the North Pacific Cannery have shared their disappointment regarding reckless vehicle use along the cannery road.
According to Cannery management, who posted a video to social media along with the explanation, on Wednesday evening at 5:53 PM, a dark Dodge Ram became stuck in the ditch at the gate closest to the North Pacific Cannery site.
They say the individuals remained there all night and were not pulled out until 8:17 the following morning, when a white truck with a matching canopy arrived to assist.
Cannery management says that while no structural damage was done to the site, staff were left to clean up garbage and empty alcohol containers, and now must repair a significant hole at their entrance caused by the incident.
The cannery is asking that people respect the historic site, and take garbage and empties with them.
They also say stay off Cannery Road during winter conditions if your vehicle is not equipped or capable.
And most importantly: Never drink and drive.
