BC Parks has announced they’ve closed a small portion of sites in the campground at Meziadin Lake Provincial Park, and that all soft-sided tent camping has been prohibited for the time being, due to grizzly bear activity in the area.

BC Parks says staff will be on site to monitor the situation and are actively working to deter bear activity.

Updates on the status of the campground at Meziadin Lake Provincial Park can be found by visiting the website.

If your camping plans have been affected by the partial park closure and the temporary tent prohibition at Meziadin Lake Provincial Park, BC Parks says as a reminder that Stewart is a short drive and offers a choice of campgrounds welcoming all types of campground users.
