Prince Rupert confirms that Boil Water Notice is continuing

The Boil Water Notice that was put into place by the City of Prince Rupert in the middle of last week was confirmed to be continuing earlier this morning.

This notice was initially put into effect due to several laboratory tests indicating that there is coliform bacteria in the drinking water and that can potentially make people very sick.

The update from the City also mentioned that there is no current timeline on when the notice might be lifted.

While the notice remains active, residents will need to boil their water for around a minute before cooling it and then placing it in a food grade storage container.
