The City of Prince Rupert recently posted an update about a fire that took place at the end of last week.
At around 2 AM on January 2nd, both the Prince Rupert and Port Edward Fire Departments made their way to a structure fire that popped up at the construction camp near at the entrance of Watson Island.
Fire crews were able to get the fire under control and thanks to the site being vacant outside of maintenance staff, no one was injured by the fire.
But the site was dealt significant damage and both the local fire department and RCMP are investigating the fire’s cause.
