Later today, the City of Prince Rupert will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony as a way of officially celebrating the opening of their brand Royal Canadian Mounted Police Detachment.
The new building is located on 145 Market Place and they’re also holding a community barbeque there alongside the cutting of some cake.
It begins at 4:30 and will last until 6 o’clock.
Although despite the ceremony, this detachment has actually been operational for the past little while now with the RCMP having already moved into it.
As expected, people can give a call to that station or go to it in person if they are in need of the services of the Prince Rupert Police.
