Prince Rupert renovating memorials walls at Mariners Park

The City of Prince Rupert confirmed in a recent announcement that they’d be beginning work on revitalizing a major part of a downtown park.

The City said that they would be removing the memorial walls, dedicated to those who have been lost at sea, at Mariners Park since the walls are said to have deteriorated beyond a sustainable repair.

The plan to replace them will see City crews restructure the walls, so that they’re more seamlessly integrated into the walking area, and angling them in a way so that everyone passing by can see the names.

The old bricks will also be delivered to the families of those who went missing, which can be set up by calling 250-627-0976.
