The City of Prince Rupert recently notified residents that some road work was likely to start today.
One lane of traffic on McBride Street at 3rd Avenue East was set to be closed so that provincial contractors could continue working on utility and roadway improvements in the area.
Two way traffic would still be open in that area, albeit with a reduction in lanes and the right turn onto 3rd Avenue East won’t be available for the first period of work.
The closure would also be rotating so that the work can be done in phases and eventually be finished in a couple of months.
