PRPA makes donations to Skeena River based projects

The Prince Rupert Port Authority recently announced that they have donated over $429,000 to a pair of salmon focused conservation projects through their Skeena River Salmon Enhancement Program.

Both projects are being led and managed by the Lax Kw’alaams Band.

Project one is based around the design and construction of a pound net for the Skeena River, which got $317,487 in funding.

And the second project will see Lax Kw’alaams Business Development LP work with Ocean AID to track and monitor the number of all 5 wild salmon species in the river, and that got $112,361.
