Rio Tinto has announced a pair of new investments that they are making in BC through their Rio Tinto Canada Fund.
The investments in question will see $350,000 over three years get sent the way of Carrier Sekani Family Services and $300,000 will be given to Northern First Nations Alliance over the same three year period.
These investments resulted from Rio Tinto working to increase their annual community investment commitment in Canada by 30%, and they’re focusing on supporting initiatives centred around Indigenous reconciliation, community resilience and nature.
The announcement also reaffirmed several partnerships that Rio Tinto has with First Nations like the Haisla and the Saik’uz.
