Rio Tinto recently announced that they were donating $400,000 in total to 15 organizations across Canada who provide services to people impacted by gender-based violence.
This donation was done with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence in mind, as it will be running over the next couple of weeks and it’s the 6th year in a row that Rio Tinto has made a donation to it.
2 organizations in Northern BC are getting a piece of the donation as Terrace’s own Ksan Society and the Elizabeth Fry Society in Burns Lake are both getting $25,000.
