The Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine recently notified their residents that a pair of local water systems are set to undergo their yearly water main flushing very soon.
Upper and Lower Thornhill Water system users will see flushing occur from April 12th until May 1st and North Terrace’s flushing will take place between April 21st to 23rd.
The main reasons that flushing happens is to remove sediment that might be sticking to the water mains and so that water quality is maintained.
Resident’s water might look cloudy during those timeframes, but people only have to run their water until it eventually clears up.
