During the final week of April and first day of May, the regularly scheduled garbage day in the Town of Smithers will feature an opportunity for residents to get rid of any pruned garden waste.
The Town’s main rule for this waste pickup is that all garbage must be bundled and tied up while being no longer than 4 feet in length.
Recyclables, paint, tires, batteries and compostable materials will not be picked up while items like leaves and grass clippings can be dropped off at the Works Yard compost site on 2888-19th Avenue.
