The Smithers RCMP are currently investigating a case that involved an allegedly impaired driving collision.
Despite officers conducting impaired driving enforcement as part of the annual Light Up the Province campaign, the Smithers RCMP responded to a collision between a vehicle and a semi-truck on Highway 16 towards the end of last week.
The driver of the vehicle is being investigated for impaired driving causing bodily harm and the investigation remains active at this point in time.
The Police also used this case as a reminder that impaired driving is one of BC’s leading causes of serious injury and fatal collisions.
