The Town of Smithers has announced that they were recently selected to be one of the Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs and BC Housing’s Heart and Hearth communities.
The Heart and Hearth program is primarily focused on helping people with mental health and addictions challenges by improving outreach and housing supports in the Province.
This means that the Town and BC Housing will work together to look over their options for shelters in the community in addition to increasing outreach supports for those who really need it.
