Telus provides update on Northwestern BC service outage

(Telus)

Over the weekend, the Northwestern BC area experienced a major outage that took away phone, Internet and TV services.

Telus managed to eventually get the services working again and according to the company, this outage happened because of vandals intentionally cutting network lines along Highway 16 by Mount Hayes, not too dissimilar to the major outage from the start of May.

The outage affected communities such as Terrace, Fraser Lake, Kitimat, Haida Gwaii, Bella Bella, Prince Rupert and Smithers.

It was said to be completely fixed by Monday and Telus also mentioned that they are working with the RCMP on investigating the alleged vandalism.
