This coming Friday will see the Skeena Valley Seniors Society put the first ever edition of the Terrace Has Talent show on at the R.E.M Lee Theatre and it will begin at 6 PM.
And as mentioned by Diana Penner, the president of the Society, there won’t be a shortage of acts in both number and variety;
“It’s going to be a great show, we’ve got 18 acts. Dance, song, instruments, it’s going to be awesome. Tickets are $10 and are available at Misty River Books. They’re also available at Seniors Corner 2213 Archer on Braun’s Island. We are also going to different places places in the community. So we’re at Canadian Tire on Friday, Safeway on Wednesday and Thursday and Save-On on Monday and Tuesday from 10 to 3.”
And while one clear intention of the event is to show off some of the talented people that reside in and around the Terrace area, Penner next said that the Society has another goal in mind, as they hope to build a structure that they’re call the Elder Barn to replace the current version of the Seniors Corner with the funds that the event generates.
Penner also explained where the idea to put on this show came from;
“The fact that every event we hold is associated with talent, so we start every one of our social events, and we hold one every month, with games. So normally bingo or something like it with food and then always entertainment. Because we always have entertainment as a big component to what we do, it’s who we are. We’re all about fun, interaction, hanging out and supporting one another.”
The show is expected to last until around 9 PM and will feature both a 50/50 draw as well as a silent auction.
