Terrace Little Theatre Launches ‘Raise the Roof’ Campaign

Terrace B.C- The McColl Playhouse, one of British Columbia’s longest-running theaters, is turning to the community for support as it faces urgent roof repairs.

The beloved playhouse has launched its Raise the Roof Campaign — a fundraising effort aimed at replacing the aging roof and securing the future of the historic building. Without the repairs, theater leaders say the future of the venue could be at risk.

Speaking with the president of the playhouse, Treena Decker says, membership purchases are one of the most effective ways community members can help. “Every membership goes directly toward keeping the building safe and sustainable — and making sure the stage lights stay on for years to come,” she said.

In addition to memberships, the theater is exploring new fundraising ideas, including a Building Sustainability Fund to provide long-term support for maintenance and operations.

For the playhouse and the community, this campaign is more than fixing a roof — it’s about preserving a space where memories have been made for decades, and where the arts continue to bring people together.
