Terrace RCMP return important paddle to Kitsumkalum Family

(Terrace RCMP)

Earlier this month, the Terrace RCMP returned a historically significant carved and hand-painted Paddle to a Kitsumkalum Nation family.

The paddle was initially found by the Vancouver Police Department, who then contacted the Indigenous Policing Services of the Terrace RCMP Detachment and made sure that they were able to give it back to the Wesley Family.

The Family lost the paddle several years earlier after it was taken during a residential break and enter although the theft wasn’t reported to the Police at the time.
