On January 13th 2026, the Terrace Regional Hospice Society will be hosting a workshop based around Advanced Care Planning from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Terrace Public Library.
The Society’s Caregiver Coordinator Celina Hall gave more specifics on what they are going to be teaching at the workshop in addition to what they hope people take away from it;
“This is going to go over what you want to think about when you are maybe no longer able to speak for yourself. We’ll go over some of the forms and things you need to create your own advanced care plan. I think getting something down on paper and knowing that it’s really important can reduce stress by knowing that your voice is heard. It reduces the stress on your family as well.”
The workshop is free to attend and people can just go to it without needing to sign up for it either.
Hall also went to talk about what made the library the ideal place to hold the workshop as well as where the idea for this particular workshop originated;
“It’s a really accessible space and it’s really welcoming for anybody. We’re hoping to target the 19 plus audience after we previosuly held a workshop that was very seniors specific. We wanted to hit a different range of ages. We had done some previous surveys through the community and it’s something that was asked for so we decided that we were going to try and provide it.”
The Society has also set their sights on trying to hold this workshop on a quarterly basis from this point forward.
