The Town of Smithers recently confirmed that they were continuing with a major construction project that they were working on.
The project in question is seeing grant funding help cover the $2.5 Million cost of upgrading the town’s airport.
Some of the listed upgrades include modernizing the LED runway and taxiway lighting, getting new airfield signage, upgrading the approach lighting and more.
The upgrades are intended improve overall safety as well as bring the airport up to current standards.
