Due to multiple overdose events taking place at the end of last month, Northern Health and the First Nations Health Authority issued a Toxic Drug Alert for the Town of Smithers.
This alert also warned residents to watch out for a green substance being sold as down, which was linked to several sudden overdoses that resulted in prolonged sedation.
Smithers has it’s Specialized MHSU Outreach building located at 3862 A Broadway Avenue and the alert is set to be in effect until March 13th.
