The recent Federal Election was a rough one for the New Democratic Party as Party Leader Jagmeet Singh stepped down after losing his riding and the Party lost it’s official status in the House of Commons.

Even their hold on the Skeena-Bulkley Valley Riding that they had maintained since 2004 wasn’t safe as now former MP Taylor Bachrach was defeated by Ellis Ross of the Conservative Party.

But despite Ross’s victory, Bachrach doesn’t have any regrets over how things played out for his re-election bid and said that he was proud of the way his team ran his campaign and he believes that the NDP’s accomplishments of helping get dental care, pharma care and new labor laws installed will stand the test of time.

Fellow former Skeena Bulkley Valley MLA and NDP member Nathan Cullen also believes that there is still a mood among the New Democrats that wants to make the government work as best as possible to help people.

Even with the Election results not going their way, the NDP’s seats could still potentially hold some sway as the Liberals came up just short of a Majority Government but until their next major course of action is determined, what the future holds for the NDP is very unclear.
