Vigil, drum circle, and smudge held in Prince Rupert to honour carnival worker

A large group gathered at the carnival grounds in Rupert today to honour the person who lost their life the night before in a tragic workplace incident.

Carnival workers joined with community members to share their memories and condolences. A smudging ceremony, a drumming circle, as well as a warrior dance was performed to honour the victim’s memory.

Prince Rupert Mayor Herb Pond was notably in attendance and participated in the warrior dance.
