In a now permanent inconvenience to the people of Prince Rupert, Walmart has announced they will be closing the Prince Rupert location.
In a statement, Walmart said that after carefully reviewing our options, they have made the difficult decision to permanently close the Prince Rupert store, effective immediately.
They say that while the store was initially closed out of concern for the safety of associates and customers, the prolonged closure led to a larger review of the store location and operations anD long-term plans.
They also stated that they know how much the community valued this store and recognize the impact this closure will have on customers and associates.
They say their immediate priority is to support impacted associates through this transition.
