PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. -- Northern Health has revised the additional public health orders it applied in mid-October to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Most notably, these restrictions apply to the entire northern region, including northwest communities such as Terrace, Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Haida Gwaii and the Nass Valley.

Bars and nightclubs are required to close their doors, and restaurants must end liquor services at 10 p.m.

In-person worship services are now prohibited as well, although drive-in worship services are still permitted.

Social gatherings at private residences are now limited to 10 people inside – or 25 people outside – as long as people are fully vaccinated.

Outdoor events with more than 25 people now have a 50 per cent capacity limit. BC Vaccine Cards are now also required for attendance.

Indoor events with more than ten people now also have a 50 per cent capacity limit. This includes events such as funerals, weddings, sporting events and arts events.

These new orders are set to expire on January 31st, 2022.
