TERRACE, B.C. -- Passenger numbers continue to climb at the Terrace-Kitimat Airport, but they're still not even half of pre-pandemic levels.

The latest statistics released by the Northwest Regional Airport show 11,306 passengers travelled through the facility in June.

That's over 3000 more than in May, and almost double the total of last June.

However, during the same month in 2019, the airport recorded 24,154 passengers.

2019 was the busiest year ever for the Terrace-Kitimat Airport, and 2020 was on track to eclipse that record before the pandemic hit in March, sending numbers spiralling downward.
