TERRACE, B.C. -- A Ford F-350 that attempted to scale Sleeping Beauty Mountain had the Terrace Search and Rescue saving the driver, who was stranded for quite some time.

Nearly an hour from the bottom, the hiker sustained minor injuries and is being assessed at Mills Memorial Hospital.

Terrace Fire Department confirmed to CFTK-TV News that the driver will be okay.

The road to the summit of Sleeping Beauty Mountain is treacherous, with washouts, snow, ice, slush and large rocks.

Some parts of the road were inaccessible to larger rescue vehicles, forcing crews to scale the road with a smaller pickup truck.

The area included a sign that wrote: "4x4 vehicles only."

CFTK-TV News will have more details as they become available.
