Police in New Hazelton have located a missing 15-year-old Indigenous girl after putting out a call to the public yesterday asking for help with locating her.

Samara Tait-Shanoss was reported missing on January 12th when her family discovered she wasn't at home and couldn't locate her afterwards.

Police were initially unable to find her either, but an RCMP spokesperson told CFTK-TV on Jan. 13th that Tait-Shannos had been found safe.

RCMP previously noted Tait-Shannos has a hearing impairment and uses lip reading to communicate. She's also known to hitchhike.
